I have a doubt related to air cooled steam condenser (ACSC) performance ?

    Dear all,

one of the designed  ACSC for 3X1 MW power plant. the problem is suddenly TG building installed near 2.6m from ACSC . so that one side of wind air flow restricted due to TG building.  TG building and fan duct inlet height of ACSC are same that 20m above from ground level.

please give me suggestion what is adverse affect due to the near TG bhuilding in ACSC performance.

The designer of the ACC would normally take the obstruction of the building into account.

However, you may have a wind tunnel effect which could starve the windward side fan.

We have recently supplied wind shield for an ACC that had a similar problem.

Also, depending on your wind directions, you may be getting recirculation, which could appear as increased back pressure.

Worked in cooling tower industry since 1973 for Research Cottrell, Hamon, SPX and as a consultant for cooling towers and ACCs.
