The following was sent to all on my email contact list. If you did not receive the notice and would like to be on the list, please let me know.

      To All:

The 10th Annual Meeting of the Air-Cooled Condenser Users Group will be held October 8-11 in Colorado Springs, CO. There will be a reception on Monday evening, October 8, followed by two days of technical presentation & discussion. The meeting will conclude with optional tours on Thursday, October 11 at ACCs at the Front Range Power Plant, a combined cycle plant commissioned in 2003, and at Xcel Energy’s Comanche Unit 3, a 750-MW coal-fired unit in Pueblo, CO with the world’s largest hybrid (wet+dry) cooling system.

I apologize for the relatively late notice, but expect we will quickly be on-track with developing the agenda and other meeting details. The venue is on the website: http://acc-usersgroup.org/, and registration and sponsor opportunities are active. We have received a few agenda items, but are welcoming offers in the usual categories of Chemistry & Corrosion, Design & Performance, and Operations & Maintenance.

October is (normally) a beautiful time to be in Colorado, and I’m looking forward to seeing many of you there. For those unware, I retired from Xcel Energy in early January and began employment with the Electric Power Research Institute. There is no change in my role in facilitating the ACCUG at this time, and the meeting functions are continuing to be performed as usual.

      For the Steering Committee,
