At my plant our condensate return piping has been experiencing failures at the support locations. This is due to the fact that the piping will move around at times leading to cracks. The movement in the pipe is not constant and it also varies at different loads. Have other Owners experienced similar issues with there condensate return piping, and if so how did they correct the problem?

      Hi NBray,

The plant I look after has only been operating since 2019, so quite young.
Our RBI hasn’t identified any cracking mechanisms as credible on the pipework carrying steam condensate from the ACCs back to a condensate tank, nor any pipework downstream (via pumps, back to deaerator). We’re on the look out for any pitting or wall loss mechanisms in that pipng.

      Regards,
      B
